The following information is provided to assist you in
further understanding Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome (KTS):
On this page, we have provided some pictures to show you
what Klippel-Trenaunay Syndrome looks like and how it
disfigures children. These are merely some examples as
no two cases are exactly alike. KT ranges from moderate
to severe but in every case, pain is the common denominator.
Children that are afflicted with KT endure constant pain,
numerous infections, surgeries, hospitalizations and other
complications unique to each case. However, the most overwhelming
affect may be the psychosocial aspects associated with
their deformity. In all cases, the afflicted patient must
deal with the questions, the teasing and the stares of
a curious public.
We
trust that these photos will give you some additional
insight about KT. On behalf of our children and families,
we ask for your support to find pieces of the puzzle.
Funding affords research dollars to provide a better
future and answers to the unknown questions about KTS
for this and future generations. Funding also provides
direct and immediate assistance to families with KT
patients in crisis.
